Is Pilates an underfitness or an original method of self-improvement?

Is Pilates an underfitness or an original method of self-improvement?

Pilates, Pilates with balls, Pilates on Reformers, Pilates for a healthy back, Pilates for athletes and what other Pilates you will not find in advertising the modern fitness industry?
What are these Pilates? Different methods? Why then is all this united by the word Pilates?
Joseph Pilates called the method that he developed his whole life – Controlology – the art of control. This is not new, but key information will help answer the questions posed above.

Joe, as his contemporaries called him, was brilliant in teaching bodies motion with the help of unique devices created by him. The purpose of use was the skill of improved movement without their help. His apparatus, which is unlike any other, has always been an integral part of the method. He patented the prototype of his first Reformer while still in Germany (before emigrating to the United States, where he lived the bulk of his creative life).
Looking at the Pilates exercises performed on the mat, many practitioners begin to compare them with yoga, martial arts, and sometimes even dance. It is often said that the Joseph method is nothing more than a compilation of pre-existing systems.
The reason for this attitude is understandable. The external form of exercise is really very simple and reminds everyone of its own. According to Mary Bowen, a student of Joe, he used to say that he based his method on observing children and animals. Therefore, the organics and the simplicity of the movements does not cause the ignorant practitioner any special impressions, but always something reminds.

People of the older generation, who studied with Joe or simply have been practicing the method for half a century, all claim that the method cannot be comprehended without its unique equipment.
Well, how so? Why, then, are the movements on the mat described in the book? What is the basis for the allegations of the incompleteness self-improvementof the method if the equipment does not take its place in practice?
The secret is simple. The external form of uncomplicated movements on the mat is much easier and faster to fill with the meaning and quality, which are discussed in the Pilates method, by studying these qualities while performing a repertoire on the equipment. The fact that the mat takes years of practice, often on the equipment, it becomes clear in an instant. The experience gained during the movement performed on the apparatus should be transferred not only to the mat, but also to everyday life. Therefore, there is no separate Pilates on the mat, Pilates with small equipment, Pilates on Cadillac. There is only one whole and unique method – Pilates (Contrology) – the full coordination of the body, mind and spirit.
And in order to take advantage of the fruits of good practice, you need to accept the whole method and use as intended.
Therefore, Pilates and Pilates in the fitness environment are justifiably considered underfitness. After all, this is actually a lack of pilates.

Yes! Studying Pilates is long, difficult, expensive and requires a lot of love for your job. But with the help of a real specialist and in a professional studio, practicing Pilates becomes pleasant, healthy, effective and efficient. Why and why it becomes clear very quickly!
And nobody takes away a mate from you. But there is nothing easier and more difficult for a practitioner at the same time than working on a mat. It’s easiest to cheat on a mat, but the hardest thing to recognize is a scam in yourself. By periodically honing the quality of movement on the apparatus and filling them with your practice on the mat, you become independent of the method. All acquired skills settle in the body forever. “The rest is just a matter of toning the muscles,” J. Pilates.

Another important aspect of the practice is the compulsory movement of the practitioner towards independence from the teacher. The modern presentation of the method sins with excessive “engaging” customers. Pursuing for years, he does not remember either names or movements, does not have an independent skill of getting in touch with equipment, organizing his body. Such a client is very beneficial to the fitness industry. It can be “caressed and undead” for a very long time in a lesson and can not be taught anything. This also contradicts the original idea of the method. A countervology is needed to replace the bad habits of movement in everyday life with more healthy, organic ones. The teacher can help, but should not do this instead of the client. This deprives practitioner development and significantly reduces work efficiency.
Practice and allow yourself Pilates, who gives independence!
